Recent Odisha News – Rail Tracks Will Reach Nabarangpur and New Projects Implementation

Today, Indian railway is one of the most sophisticated traveling modes that any other transport system can offer. On recent Odisha news, the Odisha railway is going to reach Nabarangpur very soon. This has brought immense joy and happiness among the people of Nabarangpur, as if their prayers are been heard after years of waiting. Before the approach of Diwali, the gift of railway track has reached to the people of Nabarangpur, Odisha. The Ministry of Railways and Odisha government has joined hands on an agreement that is likely to lay the track for the first railway line to reach the Nabarangpur district.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is expected to result in at least six-seven rail projects in the state, including a 40-km link connecting the Nabarangpur district headquarters to the nearest station at Jeypore in neighbouring Koraput district. Nabarangpur that is located in the Southern part of Odisha requires rail connection for its financial growth and boost in the government sectors like administration, schools and hospitals.


The MoU was signed in the presence of the Union Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Department of Commerce and Transport Government of Odisha Ramesh Chandra Majhi. Chairman, Railway Board, A.K. Mital, Board Members and senior officials of Railway Board and Government of Odisha were also present on the occasion. Railway Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu said after signing of the MoU that it is a great step and will go a long way in infrastructure development in Odisha. Such joint venture companies will provide the necessary impetus for faster growth of railway network in various states including Odisha.
